Often, in life, as we witness loved ones failing and flailing, we feel that our, greatest, 'sense-of-duty', to them is in talking...offering our advice. Yet, sometimes, the BEST thing we can do, for someone in need, is to, simply, 'be there', for him or her...be present, and, just, LISTEN. People in grief don't always need words; once in awhile, all they, might, need is for someone to sit with them, silently, listening when they need to speak, and, hugging them, when their sorrow turns into sobs. As it is that God may not intervene to change circumstances, which result in grief, nor, does he explain suffering, He DOES comfort us through the presence of other believers, and, by way of our own, belief. So, the next time you feel compelled to 'assist' a loved-one, who is grief-stricken, or, otherwise, simply needs to talk about his or her life, offer that person an ear. Listening may be the most loving and Christlike thing you do, today. Just Sayin'... Like · · Share
