URI Officials: Dumpster Fire Celebrations "Not Who We Are"
Officials at the University are taking action against the three students arrested on Sunday night, and say they could punish more.

KINGSTON, R.I. -- University of Rhode Island officials are taking action against the students involved in Sunday night's rowdy post-Super Bowl celebration.
"The overwhelming majority of the students celebrated peaceably, but some clearly engaged in dangerous and criminal acts. We strongly condemn those acts, as they violate the law and our student code of conduct," the statement read in part. "The University reminds everyone in our community that the behavior of some [Sunday] night and early [Monday] morning is not who we are. We are a community of scholars who show respect for each other and this beautiful campus."

Three students were arrested Sunday night, two on charges of arson and one for disorderly conduct. All three students could also face punishment from the university's student conduct system.
"We're still reviewing the videos, and other students could face non-criminal consequences from the university," said Dave Lavallee, a spokesperson for URI.
