Some, folks, referring to themselves as Christians, sometimes, behave in ways that have me wondering, and, curious, as to what, exactly, it means to them, to be such, after witnessing their actions. It seems, evidently, for some, of whom I'm aware, being a christian includes going to service on Saturday/Sunday, praising the Lord, for 'all they're worth', 'fellow-shipping' with congregants, and, when the opportunity presents itself...talking about friends, loved ones, or, complete, strangers, behind their backs, and, speaking cruelly, and, ill of folks. This is a bit confusing to me, and, honestly, I don't, quite, 'get it'; for, I feel that, if we are being unkind and untoward, to our fellow-people, we, TRULY are not doing the work of the Lord. I am not, judging, nor, 'taking inventory', of these people's actions. However, I am, honestly, a bit, stymied, is all. The thing is, when we treat others in ways which we would prefer not being treated, we are not 'loving our neighbor as ourselves'. When we show hate and disregard to people, friends and strangers, alike, we are not acting in the way of the Lord. We can 'go through the motions' as 'followers-of- Christ' by attending church and tithing our ten percent, and, that's all well and good; or, we can, actually, follow in His footsteps, and, treat our brethren as He would, himself...with LOVE and REGARD. Regardless, as to whether of not we attend a formal, service, and/or, participate in religious practices, if we are not, truly, doing the work of God, these efforts are, beside the point. Personally, I do not feel a need to practice my faith in any, formal, fashion; But, to each his or her own. I know one thing, though, and this is, that, we can go to service, SEVEN days a week, but, if we're unfair, unkind, and unjust to our fellow-persons, when we're not there, we're, simply, 'taking up space, in a house of worship, when we are. Just Sayin'...
