What Sort Of 'Character' Are You?

There is a difference between a person's 'reputation', vs. his or her character. As, so, aptly, put, by legendary, basketball-coach, John Wooden,'Your reputation is what you are perceived to be, by others, but your character is what you really are. You're the only one who knows your character. You can fool others, but, you can't fool yourself.' It is one thing to have convictions, and, to subscribe to certain, specific, moral-practices. However, simply, believing in a thing does not make it so. One must 'live' his or her 'belief-system', in order for it to, actually, mean anything real. 'Practicing' what we 'preach', is the ONLY way in which we, truly, display character. It's one thing to espouse to be a particular-sort, to 'talk the talk'; it's, quite, another, to, actually, 'walk the walk', and, only, we, ourselves, know when we do. In life, it is not enough to 'paint a picture' of ourselves, so others 'see' us in a certain light. It is MUCH more important to be true to ourselves, to follow our hearts, and, to know that, regardless as to how others perceive us, as long as we can 'live with ourselves', in good conscience, correcting our 'character-flaws' when necessary, this is more, important, than, any reputation. After all, we are the ones who must look in the mirror, each, day, and, like what we see reflected back at us. Just Sayin'...
