RI Coronavirus Update: 114 More Cases, 4 Total Deaths

According to the latest data, Providence has the highest number of cases at 71.

There was another spike in cases of the new coronavirus in Rhode Island on Monday. A total of 114 new cases and one death were announced. The amount of new cases was the largest single-day total since the outbreak started.

So far, more than 400 people have contracted the coronavirus and four have died in the state. Gov. Gina Raimondo recently announced all Rhode Island schools will be closed through April to contain the spread of the virus.

The latest data shows a sudden, sharp increase in the number of new cases over the past few days, drastically raising the state's total number of cases.

So far, most of the cases have been between the ages of 30 and 69, with the highest concentration between 50 and 59 years old.
