'Bloody Knuckles' Rocks Newport One More Time

The teen group played BridgeFest Tuesday evening.

Newport's favorite teen rockers gave the city one more show Tuesday night before the gang heads off to college in the fall.

The band—Mike Collins on drums, Peter Meehan and Charlie Shea on guitar, Tyler Haas on bass and Ryan Meehan on vocals—played to a full crowd at the Newport Yachting Center. The show was part of the evening's BridgeFest lineup.

The guys took to the stage with their impressive mix of classic rock covers, and as always, provided an entertaining, enthusiastic performance.

Meanwhile over at King Park, we also grooved to Forever Young, the Neil Young tribute band that features a mix of Rhode Island rockers, including Mark Cutler, Becky Chase, Dan Lilley, Pete Vendettuoli, John Amitrano and Phil Hicks. Member John Fuzek sat the show out due to a bad back, but still did his part to help work the crowd. In between their set of Young covers, the group jokingly promoted Ben's Chili Dogs, one of the BridgeFest sponsors, and remarked on how nice it was to be playing outdoors in Newport on such a lovely summer evening.
