Bonfire at the Beach? Yes, Please.

The Easton's Beach Family Night Concert Series wraps up Friday, Aug. 20.

What could be better than music and a bonfire on a Friday night? Not much, if you ask us.

The Easton's Beach Family Night Concert Series will wrap up with both on Friday, Aug. 20, starting at 6 p.m.

The Northeast Navy Showband will start the night off. The 20-member unit, which is one of seven musical groups from the Naval Station, will perform contemporary jazz, big band hits, patriotic favorites, and other tunes that appeal to all ages. Chairs and blankets are encouraged for those who want to gather around for the show. The beach bonfire will follow.

Friday will be the final of eight Family Night shows that were scheduled at Easton's this summer. The Newport Recreation Department also sponsored seven Children's Night performances. That series wraps up tonight, Aug. 19, with kid entertainer Bill Harley. The show begins at 6.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, cover act The Driftwood entertained a large crowd that gathered to hear their renditions of The Beach Boys biggest hits. See the photos above for a glimpse at that show.

While tonight and tomorrow's performances will wrap up the two summer concert series at Easton's, they won't mark the end of fun there for the season. An official Farewell to Summer party is planned for Sept. 5.
