Come Meet Patch at Easton's Beach Tonight

If you've got a story idea, feedback about our site, or just questions about what we're up to, then be sure to stop by and say hello tonight at Newport's 7th Annual National Night Out.

I, your Newport editor, along with my Middletown and Portsmouth colleagues, will be at the Easton's Beach event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to introduce ourselves and hear what you have to say.

National Night Out, which is sponsored by the Newport Police Department-Community Policing Unit, in conjunction with the Newport Recreation Department Children's Night Series, will have all sorts of fun for kids, including face painting, merry-go-round rides, water slide rides, food, a bicycle raffle and more. The police department will also be offering child ID kits, fingerprinting, and boating and bike safety information.

If the weather holds up, this should be a great time for all! We look forward to seeing you there.
