District Court Log: Man Pleads No Contest to Assaulting Officer

The following actions were taken in Second District Court on Friday, Dec. 10. The following information was provided solely based on court records.

• Michael A. Bagley, 37, of 8 Nibang Ave in Old Saybrook CT, pleaded no contest to charges of simple assault. He was arrested on Dec. 9 by Newport police after he was suspected of having assaulted an officer. Bagley was ordered to pay $193.50 on or before Feb. 9, 2011.

• James Brown Heflin, 18, of 212 Hillside Ave. in Newport, pleaded no contest to charges of domestic breaking and entering, domestic simple assault and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone. He was arrested on Dec. 9 by Newport police. He was released on personal recognizance awaiting a felony court trial on Jan. 21, 2011.
