Editor's Notebook: Week in Review

There was a lot going on in Newport this past week, that's for sure. Here's a rundown of all that we covered.

On Monday, we shared an interesting story about how local lobstermen are coping with a disease plaguing their catch. We also gave you a look back at the Newport Art Museum's "Wet Paint" event, through the eyes of the artists, and brought you photos from the Easton's Beach bonfire and from the local Boys & Girls Club's trip to the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

On Tuesday, we brought you coverage of the Congressional candidates forum that took place Monday night at CCRI-Newport. We also shared our six favorite outdoor dining spots in Newport and told you about beach closures caused by the heavy rain we got this week.

On Wednesday, we gave you the story behind this weekend's annual Spear Fishing Tournament; brought you a preview of the Rogers 2010 football season; and gave you an advance look at the Newport Arts Festival.

On Thursday, we told you about the City Council tabling the school district's request for new boilers at Rogers; shared a report from the 2010 Clagett Memorial Regatta; reported from Wednesday night's Aquidneck Island Energy Alliance meeting; and uploaded video excerpts from the speeches given at the 19th Amendment celebration at Marble House that afternoon.
