Packaging 2.0 and Surfrider Foundation will be hosting the October gathering of Green Drinks Newport in support of the 5 Gyres Last Straw Plastic Pollutions Bike Tour.
Featuring a special presentation by 5 Gyres, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating the accumulation of plastic pollution in the five subtropical ocean gyres. The 5 Gyres team will show compelling pictures and videos of their voyages aboard a 72-foot sailboat conducting research throughout our oceans. They will share personal stories and discuss how we can work to stop the flow of plastic into the sea.
Free and open to the public!
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Green Drinks is an international organization that allows people in the "green" and environmental community to come together. Through this network people have made friends, found jobs, exchanged information, developed new ideas and have helped others in the field with special projects.
