NEWPORT, RI — The City of Newport has pushed off the start of seasonal parking fees, one of several efforts to reduce the financial strain on residents during the coronavirus crisis. The resident parking program, which usually goes into effect May 1, has been pushed one month to June 1.

Throughout the month of May, residents will not need parking stickers on their vehicles, and Newport police will not enforce resident-only parking restrictions until June 1, city officials said.
