Get Out and Vote!

What you need to know to cast your ballot on Election Day.

Today's the big day, folks. Time to head to the polls and cast your ballot for which candidates you want representing you in government at the local, regional and state levels.

It's also Decision Day for the Claiborne Pell School $30 million bond referendum, as Newporters select whether to "approve" or "reject" the plan to build one elementary school for all of the city's students. Also in ballot questions, voters will be deciding the official name for our state; whether to fund a new chemistry building at URI and a new Arts Center at Rhode Island College, through $78 million in higher education bonds; whether to OK $84.7 million in transportation bonds to  improve state highways, roads and bridges, along with $4.7 million for RIPTA; and whether to approve $14.7 in open space and recreation bonds, of which $1.5 million would go toward upgrading .

Before you head to the polls, review this quick checklist to make sure you're ready.
