2. Ocean Business USA Will Make Its U.S. Debut in Newport in 2027 (heyrhody.com) — Newport will host the first-ever U.S. edition of the global Ocean Business conference in September 2027 at Safe Harbor New England Boatworks, drawing more than 1,500 ocean-tech professionals. The Elms Is Preparing to Unveil a New Gilded Age Experience (thenewportbuzz.com) — Newport's Gilded Age gem The Elms will reopen later this fall with an all-new, immersive tour experience blending storytelling, sensory elements, and subtle tech upgrades. While the mansion remains closed, locals can still visit The Carriage House café daily with a Newport Mansions ticket or membership, and sign up online for early access when the revamped house first welcomes guests.
   

4. Newport Yacht Club wraps evening racing season with 53 teams (whatsupnewp.com) — Newport sailors just wrapped a busy 2026 evening racing season at Newport Yacht Club, with 53 teams competing across J/70, Ensign, S-Boat, multihull, and PHRF divisions on Narragansett Bay. Several Newport-based skippers topped their classes, while crews from Portsmouth, Jamestown, Middletown, and beyond filled out the fleet. Interested racers can already look ahead to registering for the 2027 season starting in April.
   

5. Walks to End Alzheimer's Disease planned at five locations throughout Rhode Island (turnto10.com) — Newport residents can join an upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer's, chaired locally by caregiver Theresa Wosencroft, to raise money and awareness for families facing the disease.
