Record-Breaking Stretch Of Warm Weather Continues In Rhode Island
Rhode Island continues to break high temperature records with day after day over 70 degrees.

NEWPORT, RI — After almost a week of unseasonably warm weather, Rhode Islanders are likely starting to forget that it's November, not early September. The state smashed high temperature records day after day, also setting a new record for the longest stretch of warm weather in November.
According to the National Weather Service, both Monday and Tuesday were record-breaking. On Monday, the new record was set at 75 degrees at 1 p.m., breaking the previous one of 74 set in 1945. The next day, 1999's record of 73 degrees was broken when the temperature peaked at 74 degrees.
Earlier this week, the weather service said the longest stretch of over-70 degree days in November in the state was four days. Rhode Island broke that record this week, too, recording its fifth-straight day above 70 degrees on Tuesday.

The unlikelihood of Wednesday's warm weather was underscored by the NWS's reminder of the Veterans Day snowstorm in the state 33 years ago, when 6 to 12 inches fell across southern New England.
Temperatures are expected to return to seasonable levels after Wednesday, when a cold front is likely to bring highs in the low 60s to mid 50s for the rest of the week.
