Food, wine and art dominate a lot of the events in Newport this weekend, but who can complain about that? With so many tempting things to do between now and Sunday, you'll have your share to pick from. Here's a look at what's going on.

Vino Lovers Unite

What's not to love about the largest outdoor wine and food festival in New England? Enjoy wine and food from all over the world, including special local and regional fare. The event commences with a grand tasting at 6 p.m. Friday at the Newport Yachting Center, and runs through Sunday. Ticket prices vary. For more details, go here.

Get Ready to Get Scared

The Fort Adams Ghost Hunt returns Friday for its second scare fest of the summer. The event, in association with the Rhode Island Paranormal Research Group, will include a full three hours inside the fort, starting at 9 p.m. For more details, go here.

Bonfire at the Beach

The Easton's Beach Summer Family Night Concert Series comes to a close Friday with a special performance by the NE Navy Showband and a bonfire on the beach. Music starts at 6 p.m., and the fire beings thereafter. Free! For more details, go here.

"En Plein Air"

Area artists will convene Saturday morning to paint art for display later that evening at the Newport Art Museum. "Wet Paint 2010" benefits the museum, and is a huge hit each year, both for those who participate, and those who purchase. A special silent auction/preview party will be held Saturday at 6, followed by a live auction on Sunday. For more details, go here.

Clambakin'

Come enjoy a feast at the 27th annual Rose Island Lighthouse Clambake. Great food, live music, games tours and a round-trip boatride are part of the fun. Bird Ball

It's not in Newport, but it's far too good not to mention. The Norman Bird Sanctuary's annual fundraiser will center around "peace, love & good times" this Saturday at 7 p.m. in Middletown. An open bar, music by DJ Butch, a silent auction and a dinner by Blackstone Catering are all included. Tickets are $125 until Friday evening, then $150 at the door. For more details, go here.

Rock the Docks

Come support Newport's Seamen's Church Institute at "Lobsterfest." The institute will be celebrating over 90 years as a safe haven, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday under the North Lawn tent at Fort Adams. Tickets are $95 per person. For more details, go here.
