The Second Annual Avery Kent
Classic Golf Tournament will be held at the North Kingstown Golf Course on
August 11th to raise funds for research into Hirschsprung’s Disease.
The tournament, in its second year, is the brainchild of Tory Hueston, the
mother of a Hirschsprung child and a member of REACH (Research Education and
Awareness for Children’s with Hirschsprung’s), which is the sponsor of the Golf
Tournament fundraiser.  Tory, a former
resident of North Kingstown, and graduate of North Kingstown High School, has a
two-and-a-half-year old-son, who is a victim of this genetic disease.  His name is Avery Kent Hueston and he was
born, as was an uncle who succumbed to the disease many years ago, with
Hirschsprung’s.  Interested readers may
read about Avery at www.reachhd.org.

The tournament is open to all.  Registration is $125 per golfer, which
includes the green fee, the cart, goody bags, 1st and 2nd
prizes and dinner.  The tournament begins
at 1:00pm with a shotgun start and dinner is at 5:00pm (at Pelley’s), which
will feature a silent auction, raffles, contests and more.  Reservations are requested at least by the
first week in August. To obtain a registration form, please email Tory at toryhue3@aol.com.  For questions, to discuss making a donation or to help support
this endeavor, please call Tory at (401) 474-1293 or email her at the above
email address.
