“National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day” is Saturday September 29, 2012 from 10:00-2:00. For safe disposal of unwanted, unused, expired prescription pills or liquids bring them to these local collection sites: North Kingstown Police Station, 8166 Post Road (294-3316) Wickford State Police Barracks, 7875 Post Road (294-3371). North Kingstown is the first community in the State to implement a permanent medication disposal box. The box is located at the North Kingstown Police Department. Residents are encouraged to drop off expired and unwanted medications regularly. Please see the police officer on duty to disppose of your medications. Disposal of sharp items such as needles, lancets or EpiPens is not permitted.
