
The commemoration of Memorial Day inNorth Kingstown will begin at 9 AM, Monday, May 27 with wreath laying ceremonies at the Civil War Memorial by the Town Hall and at the monuments at the nearby Veterans Memorial Park. The ceremonies will feature the playing of "TAPS" along with a rifle team salute.
PARADE START AT 10 AM
The parade will start-off from Wilson Park at 10 AM. The parade route will follow West Main, to Brown, and Phillips Streets through Wickford village and then onto Tower Hill Road (Rte. 1 south) to the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial on the grounds of Elm Grove Cemetery for the concluding ceremonies which are expected to begin at 11 AM.

The annual parade will feature numerous community youth, veteranso public safety, and service organizations along with marching bands and a unit of the Rhode Island National Guard. Members of the Town Council and School Committee will lead a contingent of dignitaries which will include members of the delegations to both the U.S. Congress and the state General Assembly.
A special remembrance of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War will be the highlight of the concluding ceremonies of the parade at Elm Grove Cemetery. The nzimes of locales and even waterways that gained national attention from June, 1862 to May, 1863 will be cited.

ln case of inclement weather, the ceremonies planned for the Town Hall and Veterans Memorial Park will go forward at 9 AM and the ceremonies planned for Elm Grove Cemetery will go fonvard at 11 AM.
