“Following in the Footsteps of My Narragansett Elders and Ancestors” Lecture at Tomaquag Museum

Tomaquag Museum’s Executive Director Loren Spears will
share her Narragansett/Niantic Indigenous history through pictorial genealogy during a lecture at the museum, 1pm on July 27. Tomaquag
Museum has recently reignited its mission of education through storytelling, a cornerstone of the organization’s conceptual foundation.
In this vain, Spears will discuss selections from her own family’s stories of culture, history, and Native arts from past to present and generations to come. This will be a unique opportunity to engage with a Native educator.

Tomaquag Museum is Rhode Island's only Native-operated facility dedicated to the sharing of indigenous culture, arts and history. Tomaquag features an extensive collection and archive that focuses on tribal communities of southern New England and highlights the Narragansett Tribe. Come take a
tour with our knowledgeable and Native museum staff for an enriching
educational experience.

Free with museum admission. Visit www.tomaquagmuseum.com for the Summer Event schedule, or call 401-491-9063.
