Mom, Daughter, Escape Blaze in North Kingstown

A family pet also made it out safely.

A North Kingstown woman and her daughter are safe after a fire broke out in their Potter Road Home at around 9:30 this morning.

Members of the North Kingstown Fire Department battled the fire at 494 Potter Road for about 30 minutes before the fire was knocked down.

A pet also managed to get out safely, firefighters said.

The fire caused severe damage to the house and is believed to have started on a two-story porch before spreading to the rest of the house.

The two-and-a-half story house was built in 1785, according to town records.
