No Planes Damaged in Quonset Air Museum Roof Collapse
A portion of the roof collapsed at the back of the building.

No vintage airplanes were damaged, but the building that houses the Quonset Air Museum is in need of repairs after a partial roof collapse on Saturday.
Firefighters were dispatched to the museum at 488 Eccleston Ave. on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters said a portion of the roof collapsed in the rear of the building.
There were also several holes in the roof where water was leaking into the building, causing damage to an electrical room. As a result, power was cut to the building.

The collapse was caused by snowpack on the roof combined with rain, in addition to the building’s age.
Museum Vice President John King said the building is a loss at this point and while the museum will be open this spring, planes will be outside.
