North Kingstown Police: 'No Credible Threat' At High School

Police said there was no credible threat to students at North Kingstown High School.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown parents received an alert late Monday night, saying there was "no credible threat" to high school students and that school would not be canceled. Police investigated the reported threat and determined that there was no risk to students' safety.

"Please note the department had determined there is no credible threat to North Kingstown High School students tomorrow, Tuesday October 22nd. School will be open," police said late Monday night.

A message sent to parents by principal Barbara Morse said the student responsible for the threat did not attend school Tuesday.

"We understand your concerns regarding school safety and want to reassure you that every possible action has been taken to ensure the safety of our students," the message, which was posted to a North Kingstown community Facebook by a parent, read in part.
