Albert W. Emery, 90,formerly of North Kingstown, RI died peacefully at his home in Spring Hill, FL on Friday, September 5, 2014.

Albert W. Emery, 90,formerly of North Kingstown, RI died peacefully at his home in Spring Hill, FL on Friday, September 5, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Margaret J. (Traver) Yoder Emery. Born in North Kingstown, RI he was a son of the late William A. Emery and Annie G. (Oatley) Emery.

Mr. Emery was a graduate of the University of RI where he received his Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. He was employed at Oakite Products, Inc. of New Providence, NJ as a Chemical Engineer and Sale Representative for many years. Following his employment with Oakite Products, he was the Tax Assessor in the Borough of Highlands, Monmouth County, NJ until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Marine Division South Pacific during WWII. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church of Atlantic Highlands.

Besides his loving wife of 22 years, Margaret T. Yoder Emery, he leaves his stepchildren: Elizabeth (Raymond) Seeley and her husband John, Nelson B. Yoder and his wife Linda, John T. Yoder and his wife Susan, and Roger G. Yoder and his wife Barbara. He was the step-father of the late Charles W. Raymond. Cherished grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle of many. He was the brother of Ernest Emery and his wife Joanne.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the University of Rhode Island Maritime Branch, P.O.
