Andrew C. Ferreira, 59, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.

Andrew C. Ferreira, 59, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the loving husband of Dawn (Ming-Lung) Chung. Born in Newport on October 24, 1955, he was a son of Jean C. (Newton) Cawley and her husband Michael of Colorado and the late Joseph P. Ferreira.
Andrew was a musician his entire life and a phenomenal guitarist. He has played in many bands. The band “The Dreamers” had a record-breaking eight-year weekly engagement in Wharf Deli and Pub in Newport. He was a performing member of the Henschel Club. He also worked as a food service supervisor at Eleanor Slater Hospital for nine years and a shell fisherman for eight years. He had a passion for cooking, surfing, model airplanes and WWII aircraft. Famed actor Anthony Quinn gave him high praises when he cooked for him at Wharf Deli. He designed and made stained glass lamps and arts. He was a member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club where he won top places in trap shooting.
He leaves his son, Andrew C. Ferreira, Jr. of Texas. He was the brother of Daniel P. Ferreira of Greene and step-brother, Mike Cawley, Jr. of Westerly. Cherished grandfather of Andrew C. Ferreira, III of Texas.

His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church in North Kingstown, 1135 Tower Hill Road. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the family or to the First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, RI will be appreciated.
