RING MISSING
The family of a man residing at South County Nursing Center in North Kingstown reported to police on Dec. 29 that his wedding ring had gone missing sometime between Dec. 23 and 29.

The ring was snug and would have had to have been cut off to be removed, the family members said.

The facility is reportedly conducting an internal investigation in an attempt to locate the ring, police said.

FRAUD
A Fletcher Road woman told police on Dec. 29 that someone used her Macy’s American Express card to make purchases at Amazon.com and make a $5 dollar donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The woman said she discovered the fraud while at the Macy’s customer service desk in Warwick to pay her card balance -- which she does every month. The clerk asked if she wished to pay the remaining balance of $298.80, which is the amount the fraudulent purchases totaled.

PLEASE DON’T TAKE THE WOOD
A 23-year-old North Kingstown man who started to take wood from a pile outside his girlfriend’s apartment off North Cove Circle was told to unload his pickup truck after a property manager called police.

Police said a tree fell overnight on Dec. 11 and a crew cut the tree into sections that had been sitting in the area for the past two weeks. The boyfriend reportedly had seen the wood sitting there, figured nobody wanted it, and started to load up his truck.

He was warned and told to refrain from taking anything without first getting permission.

Officials for the property did not wish to press charges.
