Route 4 Accident At Exit 5A: Two Injured
Two adults were taken to Rhode Island Hospital after a crash at Exit 5A on Sunday afternoon.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI —Two adults were seriously injured after a crash on Route 4 near Exit 5A on Sunday afternoon, North Kingstown Fire Chief Scott Kettelle said. Both people had been riding a motorcycle. State police said the motorcycle rear ended another vehicle.
"The accident was Route 4 south in the vicinity of Route 102," Laura Meade Kirk, spokeswoman for the state police, said. "The vehicle had stopped due to heavy traffic and the motorcycle could not stop in time, so it struck the vehicle. Both occupants of the motorcycle were thrown from the bike. They both sustained leg injuries; non life-threatening. The high-speed lane was closed for a short time. The operator of the vehicle was not hurt."
The accident occurred about 1:20 p.m., Kirk said.
