Portsmouth Police Announce Aquapalooza Arrests

In addition to the arrests, two dozen boating safety citations were issued, police said.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — An Aquapalooza public safety enforcement operation led to four arrests, police said.

"Aquapalooza remains one of the largest boating events in Narragansett Bay and requires a significant law enforcement presence to ensure compliance with boating laws and to promote the safety of all those on the water," the Portsmouth Police Department said in a media release.

"Officers from participating agencies conducted proactive enforcement efforts throughout the duration of the event, with an emphasis on impaired operation, reckless boating, and safety violations," the release said.

According to the release, officers arrested:

The Portsmouth Police Department also issued 24 citations for boating and safety violations, the release said.

"The Portsmouth Police Department appreciates the continued partnership of the local, state, and federal agencies that assist in making this annual enforcement and public safety operation possible," according to the release.
