PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was charged with forging and counterfeiting registration plates, police said.
Todd Askew, 48, was arrested shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday on charges of forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates and giving false documents to an agent, employee or public official, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
Askew was arrested after he was pulled over on Route 146 in Providence, the release said.
Askew was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men's Intake Center as a bail violator, according to the release.
