I-95 Rollover: Tractor Trailer Driver Hurt
State police say the driver went to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A tractor trailer rolled over on I-95 near Branch Avenue, state police said. The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Two lanes were open as of 7:30 p.m., and a wrecker was on scene. The driver went to Rhode Island Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
State police said the tractor-trailer truck was loaded with blocks of granite. After it rolled over, two northbound lanes of the highway had to be closed for more than three hours. They were re-opened around 9:45 p.m.
The driver, who was briefly trapped inside the cab, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was identified as Hery Portillo, 56, of Bayonne, N.J.

Rhode Island State Police Captain Matthew Moynihan said the cause of the crash is still under investigation; however the driver apparently lost control and the truck flipped onto its side near the Branch Avenue exit. It stopped between the first and second lanes of traffic.
Rhode Island State Police and the Providence Fire Department responded.

Captain Moynihan said the crash is being investigated by troopers from the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods barracks and the Commercial Enforcement Unit.
