• The best local Halloween displays of 2026 in RI, Mass. (wpri.com) — Scituate residents can get their Halloween fix close to home at Spyntinglin' Manor on Heather Lane, which is celebrating its 10th year with its biggest haunted display yet and weekend indoor walkthroughs starting October 9. The wider guide also maps out dozens of other elaborate yard haunts and light shows across Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts, many collecting donations for charities throughout October.
   

• Providence Water hosts Centennial celebration (turnto10.com) — Scituate's reservoir and watershed were in the spotlight as Providence Water marked 100 years of operation at the Philip J. Holton Water Purification Works, which treats water from Scituate for roughly 600,000 Rhode Islanders. Speakers highlighted the 1915 decision to create the Scituate Reservoir system and stressed the need for continued investment to keep the century‑old infrastructure reliable for future generations.
