• Bryant's new Black & Gold Cafe is brewing the next generation of entrepreneurs (bryant.edu) — Bryant University in Smithfield has opened the Black & Gold Café, a student-run coffee shop that doubles as a hands-on training ground for young entrepreneurs. Led by recent alum Vincent Emery, the café gives students real experience running a business, from managing staff and finances to crafting a menu that stays affordable for classmates while building a new campus gathering spot.
   

• SIAC showdown in the spotlight (speakinoutweeklynews.net) — North Carolina A&T will travel to Smithfield this Saturday to face Bryant in a Coastal Athletic Association matchup, putting the town briefly in the national HBCU football spotlight.
