Wanted Smithfield Woman Captured: Cops

The Smithfield woman waived extradition, police said.

SMITHFIELD, RI — A Smithfield woman wanted in Massachusetts was captured, police said.

Julie Durning, 53, was arrested Tuesday by the Rhode Island State Police Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, the state police said in a media release.

Durning was a fugitive from justice from Massachusetts according to the release.

"Ms. Durning was arraigned at Third Division District Court where she waived extradition proceedings and was remanded into the custody of the Sherriff's Department pending her return to Massachusetts," the release said.
