WARWICK, RI — An 84-year-old man was found unresponsive in the water off Warwick Friday afternoon and pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
Warwick police officers and firefighters responded to the Masonic Youth Center shortly before 4 p.m "following a report of a male on the beach who was found unresponsive in the water," the police department said in a media release.
Life saving measures immediately began," the release said. "The male, 84, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased."
Thursday's death of the 84-year-old man was the third Warwick water death in the last three weeks.

Aston Jemson, 7, drowned off Conimicut Point Beach June 12.
Aston was at the beach with his mother and younger sister, according to police.
"According to the investigation, Aston’s younger sister complained of an upset stomach," police said. "While his mother was attending to her daughter, she observed Aston lying face down in the water and noticed that he was not responding when she called his name."

Then, on June 28, 71-year-old Bruce Khounborinh was clamming off Conimicut Point when he disappeared from sight, according to police.

"With the assistance of the United States Coast Guard, (Khounborinh) was located in the water near the point," police said. "Warwick Fire pulled (Khounborinh) from the water and immediately began life-saving measures."
