Gallery: URI Class of 2011 Commencement Ceremony

A collection of photos from the graduation ceremonies on the quadrangle at the University of Rhode Island on Sunday.

Joy, jubilation, flora, and spring colors filled the eyes of those who watched the Commencement Ceremonies at on the quadrangle and the University of Rhode Island on Sunday, with such noteworthy guests as Cory A. Booker, Mayor of Newark, NJ, Governor Lincoln Chafee, Congressman David Cicciline, Representative Jim Langevin, and His Excellency Elkanah Odembo, Kenyan Ambassador to the United States. A video highlight reel can be seen .

Student Speaker was Woonsocket's own Valerie Damon-Leduc, a once pubic-shy speaker who enthused graduates with a reminder of their power.

Although the weather not as fair, the air among URI's celebrants overpowered the fickle May Rhode Island sky that welcomed all visitors to the ceremony.
