Woonsocket Check Fraudster Arrested: Cops
The Woonsocket man was also charged with passing counterfeit certificates, bills or notes, police said.
WOONSOCKET, RI β A Woonsocket man was arrested on a check fraud charge, police said.
Christopher Santiago, 35, was charged with fraudulent checks of more than $1,500, obtaining more than $5,000 but less than $10,000 of property by false pretenses, and passing counterfeit certificates, bills or notes, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
Santiago was "located by the Woonsocket Police Department," the release said.

He was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release.
Santiago was processed at state police headquarters, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court, according to police.
