• New details released in SWAT standoff on Carolina Springs Road (wrdw.com) — A 90-minute SWAT standoff on Carolina Springs Road in Aiken County ended safely Monday evening when a man surrendered to deputies. Officials say he’s accused of pointing what appeared to be a pistol, later found to be a BB gun, at a woman. Neighbors described an intense scene with heavily armed officers and loudspeaker negotiations, but no injuries were reported.

They accepted a recommendation for a new HR leader without naming the person or clarifying the role, leaving parents, staff, and taxpayers waiting for answers as reporters push for more transparency.
   

• Truck driver rescues woman from alleged kidnapping attempt on Aiken County road (wrdw.com) — A truck driver helped a young woman escape an alleged kidnapping attempt along Williston Road in Aiken County after she ran into traffic asking for help. Deputies later arrested a New Ellenton man, charging him with kidnapping and impersonating an officer. The woman had reportedly been handcuffed and taken while walking between family homes after graduation.
