Don't fall for it: Aiken County Sheriff's Office highlights circulating phone scam and what to avoid (postandcourier.com) — Aiken County residents are being warned about scammers posing as law enforcement, court officials, or jail staff and demanding bond money or fees by phone. The sheriff’s office stresses that real officials will never request payments or personal information over the phone and urges residents to hang up, verify directly with the sheriff’s office or detention center, and report suspicious calls immediately.

Cause of death revealed for man found dead at Aiken County utility solar site (wrdw.com) — Authorities have released the cause of death for a 24-year-old Augusta man found at an Aiken County utility solar site, confirming he died from a gunshot wound with no foul play suspected. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Office investigated after discovering his body off Edgefield Highway last October.

Flagler women's golf team rallies on final day to win Peach Belt title (jacksonville.com) — A golfer from the University of South Carolina Aiken, Ian Williams, tied for second individually at the men’s Peach Belt Conference tournament, finishing six shots behind champion Sam Brown. The event, played at the King & Bear course, also saw Flagler’s women rally from seven shots back to capture their seventh conference title.
