• Finding Solutions: Dancing with the Aiken Stars returns after 13 years (wrdw.com) — A major charity dance competition is returning to Aiken this month, with twelve local teams raising money for nonprofits that support mental health, homelessness, healthcare, seniors, and more. Residents can attend the October 22 event at the USCA Convocation Center, vote with donations for their favorite agency, and learn about services available to neighbors who may be struggling.
   

• CordenPharma expansion to bring more than 200 jobs to Aiken County (wjbf.com) — More than 200 new jobs are coming to Aiken County as CordenPharma expands its local pharmaceutical manufacturing site, with roles ranging from entry-level operators to chemists and managers. The company is already recruiting some positions, offers about $18 an hour for entry-level operators, and plans a larger hiring push ahead of the expansion becoming operational in 2027. The project will also add new peptide synthesis capabilities at the Aiken County facility.
   

• Bluegrass takes over Aiken for first weekend of October (wfxg.com) — Aiken is buzzing this weekend as the Southern Strings Festival brings bluegrass, funk, southern rock, and Americana acts to town through Saturday, rain or shine. Visitors are traveling in from across the region, and organizers say proceeds will support the Kisner Foundation’s work, including a new children’s hospital wing in nearby Augusta, giving Aiken music fans a chance to enjoy live shows while helping local kids.
