• Brighton contract that Chapin signed a decade ago no longer valid, attorney says (thestate.com) — Chapin's attorney is arguing in court that a 2015 sewer contract for the Brighton development doesn't bind today's mayor and council, as the town faces a lawsuit from Lexington County. With a sewer tap moratorium, limited plant capacity, and a $20 million claim at stake, the outcome could shape future growth and infrastructure spending in and around Chapin.
   

• Gilbert wins non-region matchup with Class 5A Chapin (thelakemurraynews.net) — Chapin High's football team narrowly fell 28-24 to Gilbert in a non-region matchup but quickly turns around to open Region 4-5A play at River Bluff this Friday. The roundup also highlights other Midlands high school results and rankings that shape Chapin's competitive landscape this season.
