Bachmann Back in the Midlands for 3 Stops

The presidential hopeful will sign "Cut, Cap and Balance" pledge.

Minnesota Congresswoman and Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann will make three local stops during the next two days, starting this afternoon in Columbia.

Bachmann is expected to sign a "Cut, Cap and Balance" Pledge at 4 p.m. this afternoon at The Hilton Columbia Center. The pledge, which is backed by South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, urges Congress to resist any increase in the national debt limit unless certain conditions are met. Bachmann will become the ninth Republican presidential candidate to sign the pledge.

Bachmann will remain in the capital city on Tuesday, when she plans to visit a South Carolina Christian Chamber of Commerce event at 8:30 a.m. at the Christ Central Ministries. She will wrap up her second Midlands visit in less than a month with a "Rally in the Alley" at 1 p.m. in Aiken, S.C. at the corner of Bee Lane and Alley.
