Become a SC Certified Teacher

American Board to host information sessions in Easley on become certified to teach. Sessions will be held Tuesday, August 23 at Days Inn.

Looking for a new job or a second career? Have you ever considered becoming a teacher? 

The American Board, a non-profit dedicated to recruiting and certifying community-based teachers in South Carolina, will host a public event on how local residents can become certified South Carolina teachers.

Sessions begin Tuesday, August 21 at 11:30 am and 1 pm at the Days Inn, 121 Days Inn Drive, in Easley.

Attendees will learn what to expect in a career as a teacher and receive advisement on a personalized path to certification. South Carolina Teacher Certification Specialist Katelyn Price will lead the event. 

“Anyone with a bachelor’s degree can become a full-time teacher within a year as long as they plan the right path.” Price said. “We are searching for people who have real-life experience and want to apply that experience in the classroom.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore exam preparation materials, enroll in the American Board program, and receive exclusive savings on the ABCTE program. 

If you’re paraprofessional, substitute teacher or teaching on a Temporary/Emergency certificate and you’re looking to gain certification, find out how you can use the American Board program to obtain your professional license.
