Bowers EMS to Purchase Easley Rec Center
Bowers Emergency Services will soon purchase the former Easley Recreation Department for $75,000.

Easley City Council voted to approve the sale of the former Easley Recreation Center in a first reading on Monday night.
The city's former recreation center located at 618 E. Main Street, which has been vacant for several years, will be sold to Bowers Emergency Services for $75,000.
"They'll be relocating a couple dozen, maybe two dozen employees added to the payroll in the city and put the headquarters for his business there," City Administrator Fox Simons said.

Bowers Emergency Services is a family owned ambulance service currently located on East A Avenue in Easley.
Mayor Larry Bagwell said the agreement stipulates that Bowers Emergency Services will not tear down the building but rather renovate the existing structure.

"We like to put an emphasis on old things and he has agreed to keep it as is on the outside," Bagwell said.
The second reading will be held on Monday October 10 during the next city council meeting.
