Easley Author Hopes to Share Her Story
Help a local author get published in Reader's Digest

Easley author Dawn Kendall Martin has her sights set on sharing her story with readers all over the world, and you can help her get there.
Martin is one of many authors who has entered her 150-word life story to the Reader's Digest "Your Life... The Reader's Digest Version" contest. Martin has a chance at winning $25,000 and having her story published in an upcoming edition of the popular magazine.
Martin said this is her first attempt at being published, but has enjoyed writing for a long time.

"It took a couple of weeks of debating before I decided to do it," Martin said. "When you write there's a certain part of your soul that comes out and I've always been afraid of rejection."
Martin submitted a story about her relationship with her mother, Linda Kendall, who passed away in April 2010 at the age of 66.
