- Easley City Council approved recommended criteria for the city's redistricting plan. Population growth over the past decade has caused an imbalance within the city's voting wards.
- Easley City Council approved the first reading of a proposed annexation of a residential property. The second reading will be held on Monday August 8 at the Easley Law Enforcement Center.
- Utah Governor Jon Hunstman visited the Upstate this week and received a key endorsement from former Gov. Carroll Campbell's family.
- Easley's Harry Potter fans got to see the final installment of the popular series of movies based on the series of novels by author J.K. Rowling on Thursday.
- The Easley Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee met with concerned residents and church leaders Thursday morning to discuss the issue of parking in the city's new bicycle/pedestrian lanes.
