Events Like Food Fight Bowl Illustrate America
Sen. Jim DeMint urges community to support Sam Wyche Food Fight Bowl Fundraiser.

Living much of the time in Washington, D.C., I miss out on a lot of the exciting events back in my home state of South Carolina.
The important debates and decisions that quite often keep me away from the upstate, sometimes prevent me from joining in the fun of Friday night high school football. I am with you in spirit, if not in person, at this year’s Sam Wyche Food Fight Bowl!
Kick off is August 17th, 8:00 PM at Pickens High School. This is a great rivalry between Pickens and Easley. A game that has been singled out as one of the top thirty rivalries in America (Tom Ward’s book The Dirty Thirty). I am so proud of efforts to raise much needed money in support of Pickens County Meals on Wheels.

You represent the best of what makes this country great! I attended school at Christ Church Episcopal School and Greenville High School prior to getting my degrees at the University of Tennessee and Clemson University. Every one of those educational experiences taught me many “truths” that guide my thinking daily.
One very important principle that I include in every decision I make, is that the cause of “freedom” trumps my school pride, my political affiliations and my social considerations.
As a conservative thinker, I understand the cost of freedom as well as the difficulty in maintaining its prominence against those that oppose this way of life in our free enterprise society..

Part of being free is helping others to enjoy this free land.
Efforts like the Sam Wyche Food Fight Bowl to benefit Meals on Wheels is part of the bedrock that makes us strong and successful.
My wish is that every citizen that believes in this county like I do, will donate on line at www.pcmow.org by using credit card or pay pal; or contribute by mail to Meals on Wheels P.O. Box 184 Easley, S.C. 29641
