Greenville Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor
Easley police say a Greenville man sexually abused a 10-year-old boy.

Easley Police have charged a Greenville man with the repeated sexual abuse of a 10-year-old boy.
Richard Michael Pope, 53, of 18 Lakeside Drive, Greenville, was charged with criminal sexual conduct after police said he forced and coerced a child to "arouse, appeal to or gratify his lusts or sexual desires," warrants said.
On three separate occasions between Nov. 1, 2011 and Jan. 25, 2012, Pope engaged in sexual battery with the victim at an undisclosed location in Easley, according to arrest warrants.

The warrant states that Pope "used threats and/or coercion to gain the sexual battery."
Pope was charged with three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of committing a lewd act on a child under 14 years of age.

Pope is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center. His bond has not been set.
