Police Seek Driver of Fatal Hit and Run in Easley
An early morning crash on Pelzer Highway left an Anderson man dead.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is seeking a driver who fled the scene of a crash in Easley that killed an Anderson man early Saturday morning.
Jeremy Ryan Crain, 24, of 1934 Shackleburg Road was severely injured when his 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck by a 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck at approximately 1:18 a.m. on Pelzer Highway in Easley, according to S.C. State Highway Patrol Lance Corporal Scot Edgeworth.
Crain was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead according to Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelly.

Crain was traveling west on Pelzer highway when the pickup truck, traveling west, crossed left of center and struck his car head-on. The driver of the pickup truck then left the scene.
Crain was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and had to be mechanically extracted from his vehicle, Edgeworth said.

The collision remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol. Anyone with information about the accident should contact the Highway Patrol at 864-260-2200.
Update: An Easley man has been arrested in connection with the fatal hit-and-run accident.
