Murder Suspects Return to South Carolina

3 suspects in the murder of Sean Timothy Dinneen have been returned to Pickens County

Three murder suspects wanted in connection with the shooting death of an Easley man were returned to Pickens County late last week, deputies said.

Tavish Dominique Yeargin, Kayla Nicole Williams, and Nyia S. Utsey were returned to Pickens County last week after awaiting extradition from a Buncombe County, N.C., detention facility since their arrest on Sept. 21.

"They were returned last Thursday," said Assistant Pickens County Sheriff Tim Morgan.

All three suspects have been charged with murder and grand larceny for their involvement in the shooting death of Sean Timothy Dinneen and a bank robbery in Spartanburg.

Deputies still do not know precisely what the motive was for Dinneen's murder but acknowledge that it could have had something to do with the possible purchase of Dinneen's vehicle.

"That remains under investigation at this point," Morgan said.

Deputies located Dinneen's car in Greenville just days after his death and found enough physical evidence to link Yeargin to his death.

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Yeargin's arrest on Sept. 21 for the shooting death of Sean Timothy Dinneen on Saturday, Sept. 17, in the parking lot of the Crosswell First Baptist Church.

The Spartanburg Public Safety Department also issued an arrest warrant for Yeargin in connection with a bank robbery that occurred on the afternoon of Sept. 21 at BB&T Bank located at 280 N. Church St. in Spartanburg.

Pickens County deputies said the probable cause for the murder warrant is based on witness statements and forensic evidence recovered from the victim's vehicle. Yeargin was also seen on video surveillance during the bank robbery in Spartanburg, police said.

A court date has not been set for any of the suspects at this point and bonds have also not been set, according to the Pickens County Solicitor's office.
