Easley Police are investigating a possible phone scam involving a victim's social security information.

The Easley Police Department is investigating a possible phone scam that could involve use of the victim's social security and bank information.
The victim reported receiving a voicemail on Friday from a man who said his name was Michael Adams who represents Y. Chang Case Legal Services. The man reported the victim was involved in a civil case involving her social security information and bank account, according to police.
The caller explained he was representing White & Case Legal Service in New York. The victim called the law firm and was told someone was using the firm's name, but was in no way affiliated with the firm.

The victim told police her credit had been checked 18 times by a number of businesses.
