Police Investigation Nets 26 Drug Arrests

A joint investigation by Easley Police and the Pickens County Sheriff's Office into distribution and possession of methamphetamines, marijuana, and controlled substances in the county has resulted in the arrests of 26 individuals.

The eight-month investigation was conducted using undercover officers and surveilance operations, according to a statement from the Pickens County Sheriff's Office.

"Drug investigations are one of the most difficult and time consuming cases to work to acquire enough evidence for a later conviction in court," Pickens County Sheriff C. David Stone said.

The investigation yielded 45 warrants and more arrests are expected as the investigation continues, the statement said.

"It’s the skill, knowledge and experience of all of the agents with these agencies and the cooperation of the public to that provides information that makes these type investigations successful," Stone said.  “If you see something, say something” is still a great motto for keeping communities drug resistant.”

The following individuals were arrested and charged as part of the investigation:

Wayne Russell Brooks Jr.: Three charges of Sale of Controlled Substance

William Dustin Crews: Two charges of Sale of Controlled Substance

Jennie Renee Dalton: Sale of Methamphetamine           

Larry Anthony Gambrell: Sale of Methamphetamine

Brian Keith Gilstrap: Possession of Methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance

Vennetta Hudgins: Two charges of Sale of Controlled Substance
